Fans are already excited about seeing all five members of the man band Take That taking to the road in their first tour since 1995 and now the excitement levels are rising as it has been confirmed that the Pet Shop Boys will officially be supporting the group on tour.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the duo that make up the Pet Shop Boys have been confirmed as taking part in the Take That show with the first date on the tour calendar being a concert on May 27 in Sunderland.

A spokesman for the Pet Shop Boys said: “We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music.”

The enthusiasm is not one sided either as Robbie Williams, the final member to rejoin the Take That fold, said: “For me it will be an absolute joy be able to watch them every night,” adding that he was a “huge” fan of the band famed for their single West End Girls.

Gary Barlow of Take That also added to the mutual appreciation: “The Pet Shop Boys was the first CD I ever bought. I have followed them their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance.”
HE added: “That combined with two lovely people means that we are in for a great tour.”

Already more than 1.34 million tickets for the tour have already been sold with the man band finishing with a sold out eight night run to be held at Wembley stadium in London.

The Progress tour is said to be the largest ever undertaken by the band which have not been on the road together as a five piece since 1995.
