Long Beach's Rival Sons are poised to make their long-awaited return early next year with new studio album Feral Roots, and an extensive worldwide tour. It will be the band's first release since 2016's Hollow Bones - the biggest gap between albums since the group's inception in 2009.

They weren't idle in that time, with a high profile support slot on Black Sabbath's mammoth 'The End' final tour taking up a good chunk of the intervening years and, while such a prestigious gig will have certainly brought them to wider attention, their existing fanbase will be delighted the band are finally back.

The four piece - frontman Jay Buchanan, guitarist Scott Holiday, bass player Dave Beste and drummer Mike Miley - last week released the acoustic based title track from the new record. Opening with folk-style guitar and smoky vocals by Buchanan, it quickly opens into an arching chorus.

Feral Roots will be the groups first album on Low Country Sound - a Warner Music Group label run by longtime producer Dave Cobb. They signed to the new label earlier this year after four albums on Earache Records. It was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and Muscle Shoals, Alabama and will be released on January 25th 2019.

The new single follows the first release from the record, 'Do Your Worst' which dropped back in September.

Rival Sons will support the new record with a huge tour, including their first full North American headline trek, and plenty of dates in the UK and Europe as well. These kick off in Newcastle on January 31st, with dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and London preceding their dates on the continent.
