Harry Radford, former frontman of Scottish band Yashin, has returned to the music scene with his new project Call Me Amour. Infusing catchy melodies with overdriven guitars, dark electronica and no shortage of energy they are due to release their debut EP later this year.
Ahead of that the band have dropped new single 'Tourniquet.' It's a moody, atmospheric but energetic track with biting guitar, drums and bass merging around glittering synths all topped by Radford's impassioned singing. Watch the video for the song here: https://youtu.be/loW-_dGRkI4
Of the single Radford says, “We had been writing and experimenting for around a year, when this song came together we knew we had found our direction and sound.”
Radford previously seemed to have it all, releasing three albums with Yashin, signing with Song Records and playing support slots with huge groups like Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach. The band also toured across Europe and played festivals to tens of thousands of people. Walking away from that Radford wanted to try something different and teamed up with musician and friend Geoff Murphy to create Call Me Amour.
"It's taken me a couple years to even want to find my voice again" - he added "I was forcing it for so long at the end of my musical career in the past, that I didn't know if I wanted to come back to it. My life has been a crazy ride since the end of Yashin and I'm lucky enough to come back to music in a position where I don't really give a shit about catering to anyone, any critics or any label - I'm at a place of pure creation and I'm excited to get on stage again”
The band will play their debut UK headline show next Wednesday, 9th January, at The Camden Assembly in London.
