Midlands-based hard rockers Vega will kick off their 2019 as support to US legends Skid Row on their UK Tour. The trek will comprise four theater shows and two festival dates, kicking off at Manchester's O2 Ritz on January 22nd and continuing through to the 2nd February where the tour will wind up with sets at the Frontiers Festival at Birmingham's O2 Institute.

Vega were formed in 2009 by Nick Workman, Dan Chantrey and twins James and Tom Martin. Workman and the Martin brothers still form the core of the lineup, with the addition of guitarist Michael Kew and drummer Martin Hutchison. Last year they released their latest album, Only Human, on Frontiers Records which received praise from the rock press:

“VEGA have developed into one of the best rock bands in Britain, and with ‘Only Human’ comes their strongest album to date”

-CLASSIC ROCK

“A stunning effort. They may be Only Human, but their music is divine”

-POWERPLAY

“Yet another all killer no filler album chock-full of their distinct brand of modern-tinged Melodic Rock”

-FIREWORKS

“Nick Workman is a quality vocalist and he brings a touch of class to their melodic rock delivery”

-ROCK SOCIETY

The album is the band's fifth and was released in May last year. It was produced by the group themselves and mixed by Harry Hess (Harem Scarem). Check out the anthemic song 'Mess You Made' from the album here:

Skid Row, of course, are the long-running American sleaze rockers formed in New Jersey in 1986 (not to be confused with the Irish band of the same name which started the careers of Phil Lynott and Garry Moore in the 70s!). Skid Row had multi-platinum success with early albums Skid Row (1989) and Slave To The Grind (1991) - the second of which reached number 1 on the Billboard 200. There have been many line up changes since - notably the departure of singer Sebastion Bach in 1999. His place is now filled by former Dragonforce vocalist ZP Theart while original members Dave 'Snake' Sabo, Rachel Bolan and Scotti Hill are still present, along with drummer Rob Hammersmith who joined in 2010.

The dates with Skid Row follow Vega's own headlining tour last year. Here's the full list of shows:
