X Factor target looks over talent?

The X Factor has a reputation for uncovering some of the best singing talent in the UK, however recent reports point to the makers of the show valuing looks over talent.
According to The Sun newspaper a former model was approached by a member of staff form the show and asked to come and audition despite him saying that he was unable to sing.
The model said: “I was out with friends last week when a blonde came up and asked if could sing. I said “No” and she said, “Well you look the part, it doesn't matter if you can't sing.””
HE added: “I thought she was trying to chat me up but then she gave me a card with details of auditions the following Saturday. She said she would let me skip a stage of the auditions and go straight through to the judges.
“She kept going on about my looks and saying I should try out. I was attempting to fob her off by telling her to talk to my mate but she didn't want to know about anyone else but me. She kept saying I looked he part and it didn't matter if I couldn't sing.”
A spokesman for the show said that researchers often go out to make sure that “no stone is left unturned” and were not acting as talent scouts for the X Factor.
The spokesman said: “They sometimes send people out to make sure they have covered everybody and reach all the talent that is out there.”
Meanwhile, X Factor judge Louis Walsh has said that he is still yet to see a contract for his part in the show despite Simon Cowell reported to have said that he wanted him to remain on the judging panel.
Louis Walsh told The Sun: “There is nothing set in stone. I haven't seen a contract.”
He added: “I have heard people say Gary Barlow and Lily Allen could be running. They'd make good judges and I would like to see Dannii back.”
