Award-winning blues guitarist Samantha Fish has announced London-based band Curse Of Lono as special guests on her UK Tour this May. The trek will comprise 12 dates, kicking off on May 7th at the Sage 2 in Gateshead and running through to the 19th May at The Brook in Southampton.

The tour will support Fish's new studio album which will be released later this year - it will be the follow up to her highly regarded 2017 albums 'Belle Of The West' and 'Chills & Fever.' They're just the most recent achievements in her recording career which started in 2009 and saw her quickly become a force in the contemporary blues world.

The New York Times called Fish "an impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power" and "one of the genre's most promising young talents." While her hometown paper The Kansas City Star noted, "Samantha Fish has kicked down the door of the patriarchal blues club" and observed that the young artist "displays more imagination and creativity than some blues veterans exhibit over the course of their careers."

"I'm never gonna be a traditional blues artist, because that's not who I am," is Fish's own view, "But it's all the blues for me. When Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf came out, what they were doing didn't sound like anything that had been done in blues before. You've gotta keep that kind of fire and spirit. I'm never gonna do Muddy Waters better than Muddy Waters, so I have to be who I am and find my best voice.”

Up-and-coming Americana band Curse Of Lono, meanwhile, released their acclaimed second album 'As I Fell' in 2018 - a speedy follow up to 2017's full-length debut 'Severed.' The five-piece are fronted by Felix Bechtolsheimer and have toured extensively since forming in early 2015.

Since then they've also received international press plaudits while in the UK, Mojo's intriguing assessment of the band was, 'If dangerous living bothers you, look away now – but for everyone else, curse of lono are a new beacon of darkness' and Uncut called their music, 'A sinewy, cinematic take on big-sky country roots rock.'
