Liverpool by way of Ireland producer and singer New Atlas has released his brand new single ‘Lay Low’.

The single premiered with The Line Of Best Fit who said, “New Atlas brings the bassline on darkly danceable new cut ‘Lay Low’… Distorted vocals rise up like a mythical monster beneath the topline, whilst pummelling bass launches a total sneak attack on your senses. It's weird, incredible, and just a little bit freaky.”

The new song blows the lid off with dark future bass alongside indie guitars, which lay the foundations for the contrasting pensive themes of ‘Lay Low’. The result plays as if a club-ready Rat Boy jammed with Twenty One Pilots.

Regarding the single New Atlas says, “‘Lay Low’ is about thinking I was falling for a girl with daddy issues, but realising she just made me feel less alone with mine. On the day I moved back into my mum’s place in Ireland I woke up at 4am with the ‘Lay Low’ melody bouncing around in my head. I sat down the next day wrote and recorded the song. I took a step back and realised how special it was to me.

“Following this I knew I needed to put more of myself into New Atlas, so I quit my job, and I spent every day trying to translate the voices in my head into art. In most of my demos you can hear my mum telling me to STFU, but it’s cool cause I got her name tattooed last week.”

New Atlas has released a string of acclaimed singles, which have led him to receive great support from Radio 1, with Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart particularly big fans of New Atlas at the station.

‘Lay Low’ finds New Atlas on a darker tip to the bouncy indie pop that was found in his previous songs. Now channelling more of his true self into his music, ‘Lay Low’ marks the first taste of an exciting brand new era for New Atlas in 2019.
