British rockers JOANovARC have released a lyric video for their single 'Jane' which drops this Friday, March 22nd. The track is the latest teaser for their debut album which they have now revealed will be self-titled, and released on Friday 31st May this year.
The single has a driving groove and bright sound which help to highlight Laura Ozholl's soulful vocals while Shelley Walker's fizzing lead guitar is the spice on top. Watch the lyric video for the song here: .be">.be
The album will be released by Pledge Music/ Holier Than Thou Records and was mixed and mastered by Wayne Proctor - the man responsible for King King's most recent albums as well as work by Ben Poole, Stevie Nimmo and many others - and Steve Wright of House Of Tone Y Dream Studios, North Wales. It was recorded, engineered and produced by the band along with Andy Hodgson at Orange Tree Studios.
It's the band's second record and follow's their 2016 debut 'Ride Of Your Life' which was produced by Grammy winning producer Gil Norton and recorded at Rockfield Studio. Norton dubbed the band 'The New Queens Of Rock & Roll' and said they were “A pleasure to work with in the studio, great musicians and one of the most hard-working bands I know.”
The new album features 11 varied, powerful songs featuring classic rock delivered with a modern twist. It was funded by a successful Pledge Music campaign. Alongside Ozholl (lead vocals and guitar) and Walker (lead guitar/vocals) are bass player Sam Walker and drummer Deborah Wildish.
"We are family, true flesh and blood and best friends" say the band, "This has always given us a special bond and an automatic connection with our songs. We have always written songs together from when we were teenagers based our own true experiences. A sibling band always delivers true passion.”
The band arrived on the scene in 2015 to widespread acclaim, with Classic Rock Magazine saying, “Their sound is stylish, powerful and certainly has a direct lineage to Girlschool and Rock Goddess. In fact, there’s a strong case for saying that this quartet are the natural successors to those two bands.”
The band will promote the album with a full UK tour, which will take place in May/June this year. For full details of the upcoming shows visit: http://joanovarc.co.uk/events/
