As the acclaimed NN North Sea Jazz Festival draws closer, more than 30 additional acts and artists have been announced for 2019, when the world’s largest indoor music festival will return to the Ahoy Centre in Rotterdam from 12-14th July.

Having previously announced the likes of Chance The Rapper, Janelle Monáe, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Anita Baker, Macy Gray, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Kamasi Washington, H.E.R., The Internet, Rag’n’Bone Man, Masego and TOTO, additional contemporaries confirmed for this year’s bill include highly celebrated leftfield pop-meets-RnB producer Blood Orange, vocalist and saxophonist Braxton Cook, acclaimed soul singer Curtis Harding, , ethereal trio Mammal Hands, British tuba powerhouse Theon Cross, hotly-tipped US vibraphonist Joel Ross, neo-soul singer Ady Suleiman and psychedelic soul duo Feng Suave.

The festival organisers have also confirmed this year’s artist in residence; composer, producer and pianist Robert Glasper. Celebrated globally for reintroducing jazz to new audiences and upending traditionalist assumptions, Glasper will showcase the full range of his talents across the weekend through his Robert Glasper Group featuring hip-hop heavyweight Yasiin Bey (Friday), his favourite acoustic trio DJ Jahi Sundance (Satuday) and in Everything’s Beautiful, a tribute to Miles Davis featuring soul vocalist Bilal (Sunday).

The full programme and timetable will be announced in one month. The current line-up can be found here: https://www.northseajazz.com/en/program/

Less than an hour’s plane-ride away or a direct train from London St Pancras, the North Sea Jazz Festival is easily accessible from the UK and has built an unrivalled reputation since its inception in 1976 as one of the most unique and eclectic events in the musical calendar. Having played host to the likes of jazz greats Miles Davis and Ray Charles all the way through to D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai and Earth, Wind and Fire, the North Sea Jazz Festival is a legendary event unlike any other and will this year present more than 1000 musicians in over 150 performances across its 3 days.
