Portuguese singer-songwriter Salvador Sobral will release his second studio album and Warner debut, Paris, Lisboa, on Friday April 5th via Warner Music. The record is Sobral’s first release following his triumphant win at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, where he delivered a breathtaking performance of “Amor Pelos Dois” (Love Enough for Two), which was written and produced by his sister Luísa Sobral.

Sobral was dubbed a national hero in Portugal after winning the Eurovision contest in 2017. Drawing influences from Chet Baker and bossa nova singers such as Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque, his performance remains the highest scoring in the competition’s history.

Paris, Lisboa is Sobral’s first album since undergoing a successful heart transplant in 2017. The album was produced by jazz drummer and percussionist Joel Silva, comprising of 12 songs and featuring his sister Luísa. Sobral switches between his native Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French throughout, with the record also including two covers, one by the Brazilian samba-canção composer Lupicínio Rodrigues, and another by Francisca Cortesão and Afonso Cabral.

Sobral will also perform a headline show at the Barbican on 20th February 2020. Pre-sale tickets are available from 9am tomorrow, and on general sale this Friday 5th April from https://www.comono.co.uk/.

Sobral reminds us that Portuguese is quite possibly the loveliest language in which to sing soft, good, songs.” - The Guardian
