The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® announced that registration for the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas® Marathon & ½ Marathon, the biggest and best night race in the world, has opened registration for the general public. Inclusive of the 5K and 10K runs, the weekend event offers a distance for everyone. Runners of all levels will light up the Las Vegas Strip at night as the famed boulevard is shut down exclusively for the event. This world-class running and entertainment festival, returning on the weekend of Nov. 16-17, 2019, is the ideal destination for friends, family and all sole mates.

The busy Las Vegas Strip closes to traffic once a year for the approximately 40,000 runners from around the world to have a one-of-a-kind nighttime experience complete with music, lights and entertainment stationed along the course. The marathon and half marathon races start near MGM Grand and pass by all the must-see Vegas sights including the iconic 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign, Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower, Fremont Street, and the Fountains of Bellagio, before finishing at the foot of the Mirage Volcano.
 
Last year the pinnacle event in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series drew runners to Las Vegas from all 50 states in the USA and from over 85 countries. Participants came from as far as United Arab Emirates, Australia, China, and South Africa, emphasizing the true global desirability of this must-attend international event.
 
The running will start on Saturday night with the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K presented by Brooks and continues Sunday evening with the marathon, half marathon and 10K distances. Runners can choose to participate in the “Remix Challenge” and earn a bonus third medal by running in both the 5K presented by Brooks on Saturday and any distance on Sunday. The event is notorious for its impressive medal designs, as well as its non-stop entertainment across the weekend. Exclusive Runner Perks and parties available at clubs and restaurants throughout the city provide participants the opportunity to get the full Vegas experience.
 
A highlight of race weekend is the Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series. The Las Vegas stage has previously hosted The Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock, All-American Rejects, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Snoop Dogg and Capital Cities and will again in 2019 reveal a world class entertainment act for runners. In addition to the headliner concert, live bands and DJs of every genre will play along the race courses entertaining and encouraging runners as they make their way to the finish line.
 
The on-course experiences in Las Vegas are endless and unique, including a Run-Through Wedding, where hundreds of pre-registered couples can get married or renew their vows on-course. The three-minute group ceremony takes place at mile 4, then couples run to the finish line together as newlyweds.
 
Participants will pick up race packets at the three-day Health & Fitness Expo on Nov. 14-16 located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, where they will be able to be able to shop the latest and greatest in running and nutrition trends.
