Freya Ridings a 24 year old singer song writer and piano player is a name you need to remember, as you will be hearing and seeing a lot more of her. Her Hit single ‘ Lost without you’ was added onto Taylor Swift’s Apple Music playlist which gave Freya quite a bit of mileage; yip it takes a famous musician to do that to your song sometimes. Her newest song ‘You Mean The World To Me’, has already proven a great success too.

Where most 24 year olds are singing about broken hearts and boyfriends, Freya Ridings, wrote ‘Lost without you’ for her Mom when she wasn’t well. It reflects a certain character for this young singer songwriter. She is obviously very close to her parents and they seem to have been an amazing support to her.

This singer songwriter has an incredible voice; its sultry, dark and deep, completely the opposite to her physical look which is like an English Rose- pale in complexion and almost ethereal. Her success has not been instant she says and it’s been a sacrifice as she has been writing music since she was 11 years old.

She goes on to say "The last six months have been so different to the first six months of this year”  ‘Lost without you” was chosen as record of the week on Scott Mills' Radio 1 show, then added to the station's playlist and was also supported by Radio 2. Freya says it’s been a surreal feeling

She attended ‘The Brit School’ and had backing by her local BBC Music Introducing show in London. The fruits of their labour has started to pay off. ‘They are like family and we have all worked so hard, I can’ believe it ‘

She says, being signed up to a big label was not an option for her, it would’ve involved too much pressure from others to perform all the time “The thing about ‘Lost Without You’ is that for a long time I didn't feel like I could share it with people, it was a private dialogue and when it came to releasing it, it was a cliff-diving moment."

Last month Freya released 'You Mean The World To Me’. About the single, she commented:

You Mean The World To Me is a song about struggling to show the one closest to you just how much you love them. Your support of this song has already blown me away and I’m humbled to share the studio single AND brand new music video with you”
