Anteros is an English band whose music genre, you could describe as Indie pop, Dream pop or alternative Rock. They formed in 2014 with the lead vocals sung by Laura Hayden. The rest of the members play, Bass guitar (Joshua Rumble) Guitar, (Jackson Couzens) and finally drums (Harry Balazs).

Initially it was just a two man band with Laura Hayden and Joshua Rumble. Their music influence reigns from the 70’s and 80’s as well as the Indie scene. Interestingly, this band is international in regards to their nationalities. Laura, from Spain and Jackson from Stockport.

This band tour often and never alone; they invite their family and friends along, even their animals, which makes for a wacky yet charming attribute.

They are super conscious of the amount of plastic and garbage we expend and  have requested that their fans omit single use plastics completely from their daily usage and have sent out messages for everyone to do their bit for mother nature.

So back to their music, yes they are definitely making waves in the music scene. They were on Annie Mac’s New Names for 2016 and lucky for them, Chris Stein (Blondies producer) recently liked one of their pictures on Instagram.

Their music subject ranges from songs about disappointment, alcoholism and of course relationships- mostly hers. In August last year, they released a brilliant new single ‘Call your Mother’ and they announced a tour at the same time.  Laura has been likened to sound an interesting mix of Debbie Harry and Courtney Love. I have a feeling that Laura Hayden will beam with that comparison.

In an interview with one of the journalists, Laura was quoted as saying "We feel like this whole year has been one big highlight with the amount of tours and releases. Supporting Two Door Cinema Club, White Lies and Blaenavon was great fun and we learned a lot. Then we recorded our ‘Drunk” EP with Nick Hodgson and we got to tour that on our first headline. We had a summer full of festivals and we recorded our double AA side during the gaps in between"

I would say Anteros are going places- and fast!

Radio X has also just outlined them as one of the best new bands to watch out for:
