Two UK music legends, Robin Trower and Maxi Priest, have joined forces with acclaimed producer and musician Livingstone Brown for a new album, 'United State Of Mind,' which will be released later this year. In addition The Gig Cartel in association with Manhaton Records have announced a UK tour where support will come from US blues songstress Sari Schorr.

Trower and Priest ran into each other by chance at Brown's studio in Brixton, and hit it off on realising they shared similar influences despite their own work seeming far apart in style. The duo discovered a shared passion for soul and gospel music and so, when Brown suggested writing a song together, thought "Why not?"

The trio quickly wrote not just one, but twelve new songs, leading to the recording of an album with Brown that showcases Priest's soulful vocals and Trower's superlative guitar playing. Brown has produced artists as diverse as Ed Sheeran, Chronixx, Corrine Bailey Rae, The Waterboys and Bill Withers while Priest had hits in the US and UK with songs like USA Billboard No.1 single “Close to You” from the album “Bonafide”. Trower, meanwhile, is best known for his stint in Procal Harem, then his gold-selling solo album Bridge Of Sighs - a touchstone for guitarists the world over. Brown previously played in Trower's band in the 90's, and produced his '20th Century Blues' album.

The trio will play five UK dates in October this year, kicking off at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth on Thursday 24th October and concluding at Shepherds Bush Empire in London on October 29th. Their special guest will be Sari Schorr and her band who are currently touring in support of her recent sophomore album, 'Never Say Never' which was released to great reviews last year.
