Glenn Hughes has now announced a set of re-scheduled dates for his acclaimed ‘Performs Classic Deep Purple Live' Tour. The trek was postponed just three days ahead of the first date on 14th May as Hughes required treatment for an unspecified illness. The cancellations were announced by a statement on Hughes' social media which said:

'Glenn sends his regrets that he is unable to perform his UK tour which was due to start May 14th through May 24th. He needs to be treated for an illness that while not life threatening, must be dealt with immediately in order for it to not become a serious problem. He is expected to make a full recovery and be back on the road in June.'

Happily the classic rock legend seems to be well on his way to recovery, and is expected to resume touring commitements in June. He has also been able to re-schedule four of the cancelled dates - in Salisbury, Norwich, Holmfirth and Birmingham - to November 2019 and has added a slew of other stops. Unfortunately originally planned gigs in Edinburgh, St Albans, Liverpool and Nottingham could not be made up and had to be cancelled completely. Refunds for the cancelled shows, or for fans who cannot attend new dates, will be available at point of purchase.

The full list of newly announced dates is as follows:

Glenn Hughes is the former bassist and singer of Deep Purple - a member of both the Mark III and Mark IV line-ups of the band-  and is known as the ‘Voice of Rock.’ He has also played with Black Sabbath in addition to solo work, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the current front man for rock super group Black Country Communion.

Over the last year he has been touring his 'Performs Deep Purple Live' show across the globe. In it he performs a range of songs from his time with the legendary rockers with the help of a crack band including long-time Glenn Hughes guitarist Soren Andersen. The shows so far, including a UK leg last year, have been met with great reviews.
