London based Jade Bird, who's originally from Northumbria is a name that's gathering pace amongst a varied audience of music lovers. At just 21 this multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter has just found herself performing at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and upcoming shows beckon with The Mumford & and Sons, a Glastonbury appearance and an American tour supporting Father John Misty & Jason Isbell.

An artist who has described herself as not wanting to tick one box genre wise, Jade draws influence from a range of artists including; Alanis Morisette, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Chris Stapleton and Haim. Blending elements of various styles seems to be working well for her not only in the UK but across the globe too. Musically she's described as a mix of Americana, indie, folk and rock.

Jade's voice is raw, powerful and delivers lyrics with great detail and story telling. Expressing great emotion, she varies between soft whispers to loud projections which often reflect upon the modern-day challenges of a 21-year-old women.

Jade started her career touring in America in 2017 with Country artist Brent Cobb. Quite fittingly her first EP was called 'Something American' where she was already turning heads in the Country & Americana scene. Having made a good impression in the USA, it seems her own UK audience was ready for her later that year when she performed a series of piano session with Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1.

Last month saw the release of self titled debut album Jade Bird where she can promote further on her forthcoming shows in the USA. Fans can also catch summer festival appearances at Glastonbury 2019, Lytham Festival, Trnsmt 2019, tramlines 2019 and The Big Festival. Further UK dates resume in November.

Whilst about to embark on an extensive tour supporting Father John Misty & Jason Isbell, It's likely that this new young British talent will go from strength to strength in both the UK and the USA.
