The Naked Feedback Release New Single 'Smoke Without Fire'

Scottish rock quartet The Naked Feedback this week dropped the latest in their series of ear-shattering new singles. 'Smoke Without Fire' is just as uncompromising as the cutting edge rock music the band are known for, yet also represents something of a departure for the band with a tuneful, groove-oriented feel and slow-burn buildup. They even deploy some intriguing overt production effects which throw you off balance just enough for the incisive lyrics about the perils of social media to hit home all the more.
"Working with samples, hip hop beats, and auto-tune we've pulled together references for this track from different genres whilst still keeping the 'Rock' backbone" say the band. "The track is called 'Smoke Without Fire' and it follows an analysis into todays modern culture and media. Whilst sticking with an underlying theme of fake news and unattainable social media personas. The song also dives into the flaws of the public and how an individual will ignorantly take a piece of unverified info and share it around the world. The story is seen by so many people that more begin to believe that it is actually true: a story without an origin, smoke without fire."

The single is the band's second this year, and follows the rollicking 'The Goodbye' which dropped back in January along with a typically high-concept, well executed and bold video depicting a mapcap home invasion all shot in one seamless take. This time out the band have decided to let the music speak for itself with no accompanying video - not a huge risk with a band which produces sounds as vivid as these guys do.
The group - fronted by Dean Anderson who's joined by guitarist brother Callum Anderson, bass player Jack Oliver and drummer Derek Whiteford - have also recently announced a return to Glasgow's prestigious King Tut's Wah Wah Hut which they sold out a couple of months ago. This time they will be headlining a night of the venue's 'Summer Nights' festival.
The show will take place on Friday 26th July and will see The Naked Feedback top the bill along with Black Cat Bone, Neonwaves and The Blood & Gold. Tickets can be ordered here
