The app has been available quite a while but its just undergone a revamp which has lead to it becoming more popular. It can be also used in conjunction with Facebook. This has probably contributed further to the recent boost in popularity.

There are many fans of the cult series South Park who are snapping up this application for a mere 0.99. Reports suggest that the changes and updates will all fit in with the 15th series of South Park which premieres today.
