Electronic music producer Mortinus has just dropped his latest album Morten (Deluxe Edition). The 19 track offering provides a great introduction to a world of electro loops, synths, basslines and cleverly arranged beats.
Adding another characteristic to this interesting soundscape, the album weaves between Eastern/Asian influences combined with western sounds, all set around a strong electronic basis. It’s obviously apparent that Mortinus is a well versed impressive producer.
Whilst listening to the album you can appreciate the arrangement. Mortinus seems to put together contradicting styles and sounds, perhaps classed as manic at times - yet this seems to work well for his music. Each track sets its own unique mood. Throughout the album you go on a whirlwind tour from chilled out, smooth vibes, to more erratic attention-grabbing numbers.
Music wise, it’s likely to appeal to any electronic fan but this doesn’t mean it couldn’t tempt a newcomer to this sound and genre. The interesting nature of the arrangement is sure to capture the interest of many a music fan. Due to the mood-setting nature, another possibility is that many of the tracks off the album could be used on videos as soundtracks for a wide range of topics.
