South Carolina-born musician Hannah Wickland has announced the release of her new album with backing band The Steppin' Stones. 'Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin' Stones' if the third album by the group and will be released in the UK on Friday 13th September on Strawberry Moon Records.

The album was produced by Sadler Vaden, guitarist for Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and received great acclaim when issued in the US last year. The released ties in nicely with Wicklund's previously announced appearance on the Planet Rock Roadstars tour of the UK in October where her and the band will be joined by Piston and Gorilla Riot. Tickets for the UK tour can be booked via www.planetrocktickets.co.uk and www.thegigcartel.com and from the 24 hour box office: 08444 780 898.

The album was recorded in Nashville, Tenessee and puts a new spin on Wicklund's '60s, '70s and '80s rock influences. "Once we started writing some songs, I saw that she had a real, raw talent," says Producer Vaden. "I was inspired to work with her by her love of classic rock music and blues. I wanted to honour that in making this album, but also add a little modern edge to it."

The album's first single, 'Bomb Through The Breeze,' was a stomping, bluesy rocker backed by a video that is a riot of roiling colour. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfMlZoRWwgc

Latest release, 'Shadowboxes And Porcelain Faces,' meanwhile showcases a whole different side to the artist. It's a delicate acoustic number that highlights Wicklund's powerful voice. The video for it has just dropped and can be watched here: .be">

“The lyrics can be interpreted in many ways, but for me it was meant to show how consumed by technology you can feel sometimes” says Hannah of the new song, “Growing up in this day and age, there has been a screen in front of me constantly—especially during my last three years touring in the United States.” The footage used in the video are from Cuba, where she spent a week was completely detached from her phone. “It was very refreshing to detox and I came back feeling a lot more refreshed and a big reason was because of the lack of a screen constantly in my face,” she explains.

'Hannah Wickland & The Steppin' Stones' is released Friday 13th September in the UK.
