Nashville’s award winning, genre-bending trio Judah & The Lion release their acclaimed new album Pep Talks physically in the UK tomorrow via Caroline / Cletus The Van.

Pep Talks has already received high acclaim in the US from the likes of Flood Magazine, Rolling Stone, DuJour, NPR and more and has already clocked up streams in their millions, globally across Spotify alone.

Pulling together the twang of folk, the beat of hip-hop, the drive of rock & roll and the punch of pop this album is a brilliantly eclectic, musical journey shaped around vocalist Judah Akers’ experience of life when, during the time the band were sharing stages with heroes, touring the world and hitting new chart highs, behind the scenes his family was falling apart in a hail of alcoholism and affairs, death and divorce.

There’s mandolins and banjos mixed with modern electronics and personal lyrics and it features hit tracks including the Top 10 US Alternative Radio chart hit ‘Over My Head’, the critically-acclaimed single ‘Pictures’, featuring country star Kacey Musgraves as well as fan-favourites ‘Why Did You Run?’, ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’ and ’Alright (Frick It)’.

First rising to prominence with their US Alternative Radio No.1 hit ‘Take It All Back’ from their second album Folk Hop N Roll in 2016, Judah & The Lion have taken the US and beyond  by storm and have appeared on Good Morning America, CONAN, Jimmy Kimmeland The Late Late Show with James Corden, as well as played various festivals and toured across the globe with the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, and more.

With a non-stop schedule, they are set to return to the UK as part of their headline Pep Talks World tour this summer, where they will be playing in Glasgow, Ireland and London before performing at Latitude Festival.

“Relatable and beautifully performed, the evocative release has no shortage of crossover appeal.” - Idolator

"Who thought adding some synth and a banjo would sound so good?” – Alternative Press

“…their most optimistic and hopeful record to date…” – Substream Magazine

“…a pop-folk foray into yearning, loss and the pain of moving on, distilled perfectly…” – Consequence of Sound

“The ability to narrate the human experience so sincerely is one few artists have mastered, but Judah hits on this state of mind, and in doing so, he breaks his own heart as well as ours.”– Ones to Watch

"…couldn’t be better.” – FLOOD

Ripe with emotions and vulnerability… the song offers a more textured sound than we’ve heard from Judah & the Lion before… but with the sound of the mandolin in the background, you never lose sight of the band’s beloved roots.” – Du Jour Magazine
