The third film in the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, has received a massive eight nominations for the 20^th annual MTV Movie Awards with Inception following closely behind with seven nominations.

Other popular films with multiple nominations this year include the latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, with six nominations, The Social Network with five nominations and finally Black Swan with four nominations.

The winners of the awards will be announced during a ceremony on June 5 with all big five films fighting it out for the big awards.

Fans are able to determine the winners of the MTV Movie Awards by voting for their favourites online with the Twilight stars expected to receive an avalanche of votes from their dedicated fan base.

The first two Twilight films have already won five awards at the ceremony in the past with lead actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart taking away the awards for best actor and actor last year for their performances as Edward and Bella.

For the first time this year there will be a new award for the Best Line From A Movie with two lines from The Social Network up for this award against lines from Grown Ups, Easy A and Inception.

The ceremony, which is to be held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, will be hosted by Jason Sudeikis of Saturday Night Live fame.
