Vex Red are back and better than ever---the band formally announce their return with the release of their single ‘Tarantula’, off their much-awaited album Give Me The Dark coming out this October.

Their teaser single released back in 2016, ‘Burn This Place’ certainly lifted hopes up high for their eager fans, and suffice to say, their new single just keeps on building on that collective excitement; it is dreamy, wistful, bursting with rage--it is everything we have known and loved about the band, and they are here to dominate our spirits with their electrifying music once again.

Riding on that wave of alt-rock, punk and grunge that acts like Kings of Leon and The Killers popularized in the last decade, Vex Red land with a psychedelic punch in ‘Tarantula’, their gloomy but introspective sound arching towards an impactful chorus. Amidst a bluster of guitar riffs and Terry Abbott’s haunting vocals echoing with pain and frustration, the track stays true to their classic sound of alternative and electric rock, yet inviting a new generation of listeners to their emotional journey. They recently got more acquainted with a live crowd through their well-acclaimed performances as a number of festivals in the past few years, including the likes of Meltdown amongst others.

Following the chorus, the electric guitar shakes down on a consistent beat, as complemented by an equally dynamite drum mix, and the words---Let's escape the city just to look at the stars

Underneath a Turner sky we're counting our scars--invoke the depth of sadness and desolation that is trapped underneath the monstrous energy of the instrumentation. Yet the robust chorus pumps up the adrenaline, reminding the fans what they have been missing all these years. The reflective, honest yet daring energy of the track endures and then, against all odds, expands. As the words--on my heart, on my heart---shape into a refrain, the song attains the adventurous, familiar heart of a hard-rock track. The guitars smashing against each other, the drums slamming down hard----and the fans can breathe a sigh of relief: Vex Red is truly back.
