Rising country sensation Jess Thristan continues to go from strength to strength with the release of her new single Time Of Our Lives, an honest look at the addictive world of social media and the desire we all have to present the most ideal version of ourselves online.
It’s the third single for Thristan, who burst onto the UK country scene last year and has won plenty of fans with her mesmerising vocals, elegant song writing, and razor sharp lyrics. Her debut single – The Old Me – recently passed the milestone of 20,000 plays on Spotify, while her second release – Your Turn – is an airy, atmospheric acoustic number featuring pedal steel.
Speaking about her new single, Thristan said: “Time Of Our Lives sprouted from a conversation between myself and my co-writer Kaity Rae. The lyrics describe the way we use social media as a highlight reel for our lives, who’s going to see this? How do I look in this photo? Almost living as if we didn’t get a picture of this, it never happened. It’s something I think the majority of us are guilty of, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
“I love how this song is so fun but also has a strong message to it, and for me it’s about taking that time to step back from all of the things that cloud our minds about what we share online, and just live in and appreciate the moment more often than we might usually.”
Having already performed with the likes of Andy Brown, Jade Helliwell and Remember Monday, and worked alongside producers and songwriters including Tim Prottey-Jones, Jessica Sharman, and Jamie Evans, Thristan is already making waves, and Time Of Our Lives looks set to continue that upward momentum for the Yorkshire-born star.
