To celebrate their tenth anniversary, The Urban Folk Quartet have announced that they will be setting out on a 12-date UK tour this autumn.

Hailing from the West Midlands, The Urban Folk Quartet have carved out a name for themselves with their high energy live shows and eclectic folk sound that takes in influences from all sorts of global music genres.

After temporarily expanding to an eight-piece line-up for a series of festival appearances over the summer, including performances at Shrewsbury Folk Festival and Green Man Festival, the group are now back to their four-piece roster of Joe Broughton (fiddle, mandolin, guitar), Paloma Trigás (fiddle), Tom Chapman (percussion) and Dan Walsh (banjo).

Writing on their official Facebook page, the band said: “We've had an incredible time this summer, celebrating our tenth year with a few quartet shows and a load with the extended line-up. We zipped up and down the country, got to experience some of the best festivals the UK has to offer and met some brilliant people along the way.

“We've really been knocked out by the response you gave to our new music and can't wait to share our upcoming album with you later in the year.”

Their latest album – tentatively titled On The Things We Can Change – will be the band’s seventh studio album, and is scheduled for release later this year or in early 2020. It is the follow up to 2016’s Live III.
