Twenty-five years after the release of their self-titled debut album, Arizona rockers Jimmy Eat World have announced details of their tenth studio album Surviving, due out October 18 through The Orchard/RCA.

The album’s lead single – All The Way (Stay) – is available now and comes with an Americana themed video.

Writing on the band’s official Facebook page, lead singer and guitarist Jim Adkins wrote: “I realize that I wouldn't be who I am today unless everything happened exactly the way it did. I can listen back to our records and hear that maybe I was trying to tell myself some things before… but didn't really want to let them in.

“Our 1999 album was called Clarity, but I really wasn't on a quest for clarity when we put that out.”

“The crux of the decision is 'Am I going to do something different or am I going to continue even though I hate who I am right now?' That's the difference between surviving and truly living. That's the point of the songs on Surviving.”

To coincide with the release of the new album, Jimmy Eat World have also confirmed details of a 19-date tour, including three open dates in the UK.

They play Sheffield Leadmill on October 17th, followed by two shows in London: at Kingston Banquet Records on October 19th and London Metropolis Studios on October 20th.

Surviving is the follow up to 2016’s Integrity Blues, which was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who had previously worked with Paramore and Nine Inch Nails. The record is the band’s highest charting release in the UK to date, heaving reached the position of 21 in the UK albums chart. It was chosen by Sputnikmusic as one of the Top 50 albums of 2016.
