DJ, record producer, songwriter, and electronic musician tourist has confirmed his new album Wild will be out in the UK on October 18th through Monday Records.

It’s the second Tourist – otherwise known as William Phillips – album of the year after his second album Everyday was released back in February.

Phillips initially teased details of Wild in the summer, and has so far released three tracks from the upcoming album: ‘Bunny’, ‘So’, and ‘Elixir’. 

A fourth single – ‘Kin’ – will be out in two weeks’ time in the build up to the full release of new album.

In an interview with NME published in August, Phillips said: “I’ve been writing my new album ever since I finished my last one.”

“Releasing an album every five years is not the one for me, because it doesn’t feel fresh. I want to do it yearly. 

“None of my albums are going to change the world, I’m just grateful to be able to put them out, and I want to keep building a catalogue.”

To celebrate the release of Wild, Phillips is embarking on a 10-date North American tour with co-headliner US DJ Matthew Dear. The pair will play shows in Boston, Chicago, Washington, Brooklyn, Denver, Austin, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles this December.

Phillips will also play three shows across Europe in October, as well as a gig at Alexandra Palace supporting Rufus Du Sol on October 25th. He will play three further shows in the UK in Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham next April.

Phillips burst onto the scene in 2012 with his self-titled debut EP, before he put his debut album U out in 2016. Alongside touring, performing and writing his own music, he has continued to write, remix, and produce records for other artists, including Wolf Alice, Chvrches, Hozier, and Christine and the Queens.

In 2015 he won the Grammy Award for Song Of The Year for co-writing the Sam Smith hit song ‘Stay With Me’.
