System Of A Down, Kiss and Iron Maiden have been confirmed as the headliners for the 2020 Download Festival.
The three-day annual rock and heavy metal festival will be held at its Donington Park home in Leicestershire from 12 to 14 June next year.
Iron Maiden are scheduled to headline on the Saturday night, one of only two shows the legendary rockers have scheduled in the UK next year.
In a statement on the festival’s official website, Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson said: “Next year we will play a number of countries and cities we have yet to visit on this incredible tour, so it is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020 and we will certainly go to town and add a few extra items to the show.
“This will be our seventh time headlining at Donington Park. It’s home turf and we all really enjoy playing this festival, the vibe from the crowd is always fantastic.”
Kiss meanwhile will play the festival as part of their final ever tour, appropriately named the End Of The Road Tour as the larger than life rockers bring the curtain down on their glittering 45-year career.
Confirmed to be joining System Of A Down and their fellow headliners on the bill are the likes of The Offspring, Korn, Deftones, Gojira, Disturbed, Black Veil Brides, Alestorm, Of Mice And Men, and Daughtry.
Since starting at Donington Park in 2003, Download Festival has welcomed hundreds of thousands of music fans and become the most popular rock and heavy metal festival in the UK.
Over the years, some of the biggest names in rock have taken their place on Download’s hallowed stages including Saxon, Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Metallica, Soundgarden, Motörhead, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Kiss, Judas Priest, Status Quo, Mötley Crüe, Journey, ZZ Top, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Faith No More and Guns N' Roses.
Tickets for the festival go on sale at 2pm on Wednesday 25th September on the festival’s official website.
