NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Independent singer-songwriter, Hannah Bethel, has released the deeply personal and emotionally riveting single, "The House Is On Fire." The song was premiered this week at Americana Highways and The Boot. Stream and purchase the single at this link.

Bethel penned "The House Is On Fire" and co-produced the song with Jeff Huskins. The single is a heart wrenching ballad that showcases Bethel's plaintive vocal and intensely deep story-telling lyrics set to the simple musical accompaniment of electric and steel guitars. The song tells the story of a relationship gone bad, with one person seeing everything as being okay while the other equates the situation with an all-consuming flame that is destroying the union.

"He'll swear that he can't smell the smoke

But I can't breathe, no I can't cope

And he's blinded by the love we used to have

But I'm not what I thought I was

He's holding back and I'm too much

And I don't think it's ever been this bad

God help us, the well has run dry

And he don't have a single tear to cry

I'm getting so tired

And the house is on fire"

Bethel's cinematic style of songwriting is garnering well-deserved attention for her across multiple genres, and with each new single she takes her listeners in a completely new direction. Starting with her late-2018 release "Train," a rollicking track that married rock and pop elements, to her last single, "Rhinestone Rodeo," a delicate ballad which highlighted her ethereal vocals in an acoustic-based country/Americana styled track, to the soul-baring melancholy vibe of "The House Is On Fire," she continues to defy categorization. On that note, Bethel states: "I have found the most forward movement in my career and peace in my heart when I write about what I am immediately experiencing, and release songs based on my intuition."

Her songs are also being recorded by other artists. One of Bethel's teenaged musical influences, Nineties hit-maker, Jamie O'Neal, recently debuted "Wreck Me," live on the stage of the Opry. Co-written with O'Neal, Rachele Lynae and Bethel, the song will be included on O'Neal's next album.

Bethel is currently writing and recording music for her forthcoming EP. She recently wrapped her very successful spring/summer "Rhinestone Rodeo Tour" which took her and her band to seven states across America and included a sold out show at Nashville's City Winery Lounge.

In a significant career milestone, Bethel also recently garnered a Featured Artist endorsement from Gretsch® Guitars, and "The House Is On Fire" is underpinned with the signature electric Gretsch sound.

ABOUT HANNAH BETHEL:

By the time Hannah Bethel left small town Houghton, Michigan for the bright lights of Nashville, Tennessee at the tender age of 18, her self-released first record had already been out almost a year. As a teenager, she got her feet wet playing fairs, bars, coffeehouses, and country western shows all around the Upper Midwest. Three more independent records were created in Nashville between 2010 and 2015 with The Freedom EP garnering the "Independent Country Album of the Year Award" from examiner.com in 2012. In the last decade, Bethel's well developed style and unique blend of country, Americana, and rock has continued to garner her acclaim from renowned publications including Billboard, The Washington Post and Maverick Magazine. Just recently, she was welcomed into the Song Suffragettes family, a trailblazing and elite collective of rising female artists in Nashville, who are taking a stand against the wide-spread discrimination of women in the music industry with their mantra, #LetTheGirlsPlay.

Bethel's 2018 breakout hit, "Train" received airplay from both country and alternative stations including WSM Radio, broadcast home of the Grand Ole Opry, and Lightning 100, Nashville's indie rock and alternative mainstay. The "Train" video was also broadcast across all CMT platforms as part of the CMT "Artist Discovery" program, which then landed her an invite into the CMT Mentorship Program by CMT SVP of Music and Talent, Leslie Fram. Her follow up single, "Rhinestone Rodeo," knocked over barrels from Connecticut to Alaska, supported by Bethel's 2019 tour of the same name. From solo acoustic performances at venues like New York City's famed Rockwood Music Hall, to full band shows at influential spaces including Tidball's in Bowling Green and The Basement in Nashville, Bethel is mesmerizing audiences with her electric live shows and profound connection to her craft. And now that she is endorsed by Gretsch, the classic '70s rock and country sound that influenced her growing up can be amplified even more.
