Laura White’s new track ‘Nobody’ may have been released during a season of love, togetherness, and family but it is not afraid to pull any punches when it comes to the matters of the heart. It is raw, honest and staggering in that it touches upon some intense subjects but never refocuses the attention from White’s resilient, all-encompassing voice.

Many might recall White from the fifth series of X-Factor, where she stunned British audiences with her effortless charisma on and off the stage, her immense voice impressing the judges week-in and week-out. Her elimination from the show following the fifth week elicited strong reactions among the viewers, spawning petitions, investigations, and even parliamentary mentions.

It can be quite difficult to remain as beloved to the fans twelve years later but White is managing to do so with aplomb. It does not hurt that she has got an unforgettable voice, its power magnetic enough to be compared to the likes of Adele, Ella Henderson and other British vocal stalwarts in the scene. The message being conveyed by this song is an outward showcase of strength itself, referring to White’s persistence in loving herself, in being ‘somebody’ but needing ‘nobody’. Yet the melody does not resort to excessive instrumentation to hammer down its themes; all it includes is powerful chords on the piano to retain its soothing rhythm and White’s dominant, abrasive voice.

Laura White may have the upper hand in terms of her incredible talent but she never shies away from interacting with her fans on social media. She ensures to express gratitude to all her fans and listeners and encourages them to love themselves for who they are. Her positive attitude and infectious demeanor are one of the many factors why ‘Nobody’ is being featured as one of the top singles to keep an eye out for this season.
