Sody’s ‘Reason to Stay’ is Yet Another Beautiful Melody from the Young Singer

Sody’s latest song ‘Reason to Stay’ marks yet another achievement for the young singer-songwriter from London, who reveals more vulnerabilities and strengths in this slow-paced, piano-powered ballad.
The melody is warm and thoughtful, dipping and soaring in all the right places, so that Sody’s light, feathery voice can flow along and continue expressing the vast range of emotions contained within. The instrumentation is reliant upon the tender keys on the piano, and although there is so much space in the chorus to include more production effects, it refrains from doing so. As a result, the track is pristine, passionate and reflective of Sody’s set of talents.
The nineteen-year-old is no stranger to the fame game, first having broken through with her song ‘Sorry’ at just a mere age of fifteen. She was unanimously praised for her lyrical maturity and her sophisticated sound---something that is becoming increasingly rare in the era of electronic dubstep and hip-hop. Her latest EP ‘I’m Sorry, I’m Not Sorry’ chronicles her emotional journey over the years, and will hopefully be a source of support and strength for her fans, as they battle their own challenges and heartbreaks. Sody is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve, and the honest, vivid lyrics being sung in ‘Reason To Say’ reiterate the wisdom and power she has been able to hone over the years.
Sody has been a role model in recent years in terms of her activism for mental health awareness, anti-bullying campaigns, and body positivity. She has been forthcoming and honest about her experiences, and has proven to be an inspiration for youth across the world. Sharing advice to young girls embarking on their own dreams in entertainment, Sody says:
“I mean, it’s always going to be hard to show that vulnerability and be honest about yourself but the more people that show their most authentic self, the more people will be confident to do so. I want to be able to inspire and empower young people to be themselves and not care what other people think. Your happiness is the most important thing.”
