Multi-million-selling UB40, featuring founding members Ali Cambell and Astro, legendary Jamaican singer Jimmy Cliff, and one of the all-time great British reggae bands Aswad are confirmed for a special reggae-themed evening at this year’s Nocturne Live concert series, which returns to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire in June.

Taking place on Sunday June 21st, the evening promises to bring the 4-day event to a close in spectacular style with performances from three classic reggae acts.

Hailing from the West Midlands, UB40 feat Ali & Astro became a household name around the world throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s thanks to their seminal covers of songs including Red Red Wine, Kingston Town and (I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You alongside a number of hit original compositions including Food For Thought, King and One In Ten. They released a string of chart-topping albums, received multiple Grammy nominations, and went on to enjoy sales of over 70 million.

Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, musician, actor, singer, songwriter and producer Jimmy Cliff is an undisputed pioneer of Jamaican music and one of the most revered songwriters of his time. Amongst his catalogue of hits are the anthems I Can See Clearly Now, The Harder They Come, Many Rivers To Cross, You Can Get It If You Really Want, and Wonderful World, Beautiful People.

Aswad are one of the UK’s most successful reggae bands and scored a huge UK number one in 1988 with Don’t Turn Around. The current line-up features original members Angus “Drummie Zeb” Gaye and Tony “Gad” Robinson.

Tickets for UB40 feat Ali & Astro, Jimmy Cliff and Aswad start at £35 and go on sale on Friday March 6th from www.nocturnelive.com.

The line-up for this year’s Nocturne Live series is now complete. UB40, Jimmy Cliff and Aswad join Simple Minds, Deacon Blue, Lionel Richie and David Gray, who celebrates the 20th anniversary of his seminal album White Ladder with support from 12 million-selling Lighthouse Family and Nerina Pallot.
