Doctor Conrad Murray Sentenced to Four Years for the Death of Michael Jackson

Doctor Conrad Murray has been hit with the maximum sentence for the involuntary manslaughter of pop star Michael Jackson. The sentencing came about after three weeks when he was found guilty of involuntarily killing the star by giving him a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic drug propofol, on the 25 June 2009. The Doctor who plead not guilty to the charge is said to be devastated at the sentence.
The sentencing was delivered today and the judge stated that the Doctor should have known better than administer a drug that is only supposed to be used in a hospital setting. He stated that this was treated a serious medical negligence, because a life was taken as a result of Conrad Murray's mistakes. Dr. Murray's defense team had accepted the guilty verdict however, they were hoping that he would not have to spend any time in jail. However, due to the fact that the victim of Murray's crimes was Michael Jackson and the magnitude of the charge he was sentenced the maximum amount of time in jail and stripped of his license to practice medicine again in the United States.
Dr. Murray also has to pay Jackson's children over $100 million in compensation for the cost of the funeral and the money lost from not being able to perform at the London shows in 2009. Jackson's family were said to be thrilled with the verdict and the sentence but they delivered a statement that stated that no verdict or sentence can bring back their brother and their son. Also that nothing can take away the pain of losing Michael. Although Conrad Murray has been sentenced to the full four years in jail. He will not serve his sentence in federal jail.
Due to the fact that in the state of California the prisons are overcrowded. He will therefore serve his sentence in a county jail where it is more than likely to be released early. The Michael Jackson vs Conrad Murray Case has hit the headlines all over the world and now the man who has been blamed for the King of Pops death will go on to serve his sentence for what the judge called serious medical negligence. Michael Jackson fans all over the world have expressed their joy on social networking sites stating that they are very happy with the verdict and sentence delivered for the death of their hero in June 2009.
