Smule who are well known for making the iOS apps such as Ocarina and Magic Piano have recently revealed that they are planning to purchase Khush. Khush is another well known company which created LaDiDa which is a an app that allows you to sing a tune and it creates an accurate beat from the tune. Khush also created another program called Songify.

It has not been revealed how much they plan to buy the company for but it is expected to be a combination stock and cash purchase. The people involved in setting up the deal have stated that although they will be acquiring the company it is been seen as more of an amalgamation of musically minded people. Coming together to create something wonderful, for equally musically minded individuals.  Therefore, the employees at Khush will still keep their jobs, meaning that there will be no major changes within the company.

Both the creators of Khush and Smule have stated that they have very similar mindsets when it comes to music technology. Ge Wang who was one of the co-founders of Smule works at Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics. One of the founders of Khush, Parag Chordia works as a professor at Georgia Tech. Therefore, they both have very similar backgrounds, not to mention a very similar vision for the future of music technology.

Smule has mainly been based in the West Coast of the United States. It has bases in Palo Alto and San Francisco. The people over at Khush will carry on working from Atlanta in the State of Georgia. They will also continue to work on their own projects, as well as alongside each other on separate projects. Songify and LaDiDa are going to be working alongside the Sonic Network which is one of Smules projects. The Sonic Network lets you make music and share the music you have created with other users of the Sonic Network. Users can also work on musical collaborations with each other.

The two companies celebrated the amalgamation of two musically minded companies by creating a video that was posted on the Internet about, strangely enough a lady who loves cats. The video was made using Songify.
