Lady Gaga has been making waves in recent months regarding her quest to change the laws on bullying in the United States. The singer went to the White House this week to meet with President Obama's colleagues.  The President's senior adviser Valerie Jarrett stated that the singer was an amazing source of strength and someone to look up to especially for children who do not feel like they fit in in school.

Lady Gaga has said that she is doing this for all the kids who feel isolated. She has stated this is a personal crusade she is currently on due to the fact that she was bullied in school as a child. She said that people thought that she was different. Jarrett stated on a blog post on the White House Website that she was touched by how Lady Gaga has used her fame to inspire young people and to tell her story how it is okay to be different. She also highlighted that it is a very good thing that the singer is is raising awareness about vital issues within society, and helping to do something to bring about change.

The singer did not get the opportunity to meet President Barack Obama as he was otherwise engaged in Kansas for his Presidential duties. However, they have met in the past when Lady Gaga was invited to a fund-raising event for Obama's re-election rally in California in 2011.

Gaga was seen by the World's media as she left the White House on Tuesday wearing all white and stiletto heels.  This year The White House put on an anti-bullying conference and it has estimated that bullying has had an affect on over 13 million children. Valerie Jarret stated that the administration is very excited about the plans for the future regarding Lady Gaga's anti-bullying campaign, which has culminated in a charity called the Born This Way Foundation.  The Foundation was set up to find ways of changing how children are treated in school and to raise awareness about bullying within the school environment.
