Purity Ring is a Canadian-based band that has shocked the world with their ability to merge genres to create a unique sound.

It’s been five years since the electro-pop duo released a musical body of work. Looking back into their discography, we see that their debut album Shrines released back in 2012 features multiple fan favorites, including a track titled “Fineshrine ''. Today “Fineshrine” has become one of Purity Ring’s most popular songs garnering nearly 60 million streams. In 2015, we got their second album titled Another Eternity, which showcased the duo's ability to continuously merge soft vocals and gory lyrics to create the “future pop” style the band is widely praised for.

Although Purity Ring’s new album WOMB is consistent with their futuristic sound, the amazing sound production from Corin Roddick and stand out vocals from Megan James makes for another wonderful musical project. Fans have already streamed multiple records on the project millions of times including the songs “stardew” and “peaceful”. Another standout track from the album is “pink lighting”, a record that sunken beneath the electronic space sounds and light base we hear upbeat and high pitched vocals to express the heavy feelings of what seems to be the end of a romantic relationship. Check out the full tracklist of WOMB below.

Purity Ring continues to have a substantial impact on the music world. Hip-hop rockstar Playboi Carti sampled the duo’s song “Grandloves” for his record “Fell In Luv” featuring Bryson Tiller on his Die Lit album. The duo has also influenced the television world with their song “Obedear” becoming the theme song to the television series Search Party and the record “Fineshrine” gaining a feature in an advertisement for the UK online retailer Very. Their new album WOMB did not disappoint so we can only expect these songs to reach even higher heights.
