While it’s undeniable that we’re living in unprecedented times at the moment, it doesn’t mean that we can’t turn to our favourite artists to build morale amidst the uncertainty.

In other years, we'd be able to watch these incredible artists perform live at various venues across the world. This year, we’re going to have to settle for a massive celebrity-filled affair that takes place entirely on an online platform. This live musical event is titled One World: Together At Home and has been organized by Global Citizen in partnership with musical extraordinaire Lady Gaga. This mega concert special is being put together to support our health care workers who’ve emerged as true heroes in this global crisis.

The two-hour event is set to drive private sector leaders to support the COVID-19 Solidarity Fund for the World Health Organization, powered by the UN Foundation. On top of supporting our frontline workers as they battle the pandemic, the concert special will be featuring some of the illustrious, entertaining, and talented artists in the industry at the moment. Jennifer Lopez, Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Celine Dion are just a few of the names that are going to be performing for this concert. The rest of the line-up is no joke, though; from comedians like Ellen Degeneres and Amy Poehler to actors like Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, you can be guaranteed to witness a complete masterclass of entertainment at this virtual concert.

If you want to see whether your favourite artist has made the cut for the concert, you can check out the line-up here. But really, it’s worth it to check it out on the basis of star power alone. Most of us are stuck at homes, wondering how we can keep ourselves entertained as the rest of the world goes through this public health crisis. Music is one of the few pleasures in life that never gets old; it keeps us bound to each other emotionally even though we can’t physically gather together at a concert for a little while now.

But such is the power of music that has driven a multitude of famous artists to lend their voices to this wonderful cause. So if you want to support your health care workers and lift spirits at a trying time, check your local listings and tune in for the concert that will be airing on Saturday, April 18 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m E.S.T.
