Stats have shown that Android is much more popular than iOS for app users. However, iOS still attracts more developers than Android does. A recent study has shown that Android has 53 percent of the entire market share in the USA. This compares to 29 percent for iOS.

These days apps are very important to smartphone users. If you want the best smartphone users usually judge it by the quality of the apps available. Even though the iPhone does have a great deal of fantastic apps Android pips iPhone to the post in that one.

Although the stats show that iPhone is less popular for users developers are still more inclined to head for iPhone. Some tech pundits say it is because developers trust iPhone more than Android.

When we first made the point that consumers would do well to “follow the herd” when selecting a smartphone, we assumed that app developers would build stuff for the most popular devices.

That appears not to be the case. Even as users flock to Android, developers are headed the other way.
