Adele Gave Middle Finger at Brit Awards Acceptance Speech
- in Latest
The biggest winner of the night at the Brit Awards Adele gave the middle finger gesture to cameras as she was cut short on accepting one of the biggest awards of the night. The show was running smoothly until the end, where Adele was given the last award which was for best British album.
Adele was annoyed by the fact that she could not thank the public for her award. Host of the Brits James Corden was said to have felt bad that he had to cut Adele short after TV bosses made him. After Adele was cut of the show went straight into a 11 minute performance by Lifetime Achievement winners Blur.
Adele replied in an interview after:
"I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me," she said.
Since TV bosses have said sorry about cutting the sole singer short whilst receiving her award.
The Brit awards is broadcast live, so every year you do tend to see some kind of technical hitch. It does raise the question that why the show could not run over slightly. Although it would probably interrupt with the 10 O'clock news. In my opinion it does give the Brit Awards a slightly bad look, which could reflect on anyone viewing from other countries.
The Brit Awards does tend to end up containing a certain amount of unplanned controversial behavior.
Here's a video on Youtube of the incident last night:
