Caro Drop New Single Cat’s Pyjamas From Upcoming Album Burrows - Watch

Indie trio Caro have unveiled their new single Cat’s Pyjamas, and an accompanying music video, both of which are available now.
The song is taken from the band’s upcoming album Burrows, which is due for release through Yala! Records – who the band signed with last year – on September 25th, and features an early contender for the standout lyric of the year as lead singer Adam Pardey sings: “I can’t find a wife, my car keys or a plastic bag / that would make a lovely face mask”.
The trio, comprised of Pardey (vocals / guitar / piano), Bryn Jenkins (drums) and Andrew Thompson (bass), has been earning rave reviews for their live performances, intricate, spacey sound and sharp lyrics. Veteran DJ and BBC 6 Music star Steve Lamacq has said that Caro: “sounds like Alice in Wonderland if written by Morrissey while channelling Dr Seuss, Alan Bennett and PJ Harvey. Terrific stuff.”
Hailing from Leeds, and having formed at Leeds College of Music, the band’s stock is rising fast. In April, the group played the live-streamed festival Bus-tival, an all-day fundraiser for the NHS to help provide accommodation and rest facilities for front line doctors and nurses at hospitals.
In a post shared to the band’s Facebook page unveiling the album artwork for Burrows, the band wrote: “Apologies for our radio silence. Social media has never been a medium through which we’ve been able to effectively communicate but we are making efforts to educate ourselves, support change and take part in open dialogues elsewhere. This is the cover of our album, which is my best attempt at reflecting upon the current state of the world and my place within it. I hope that it is okay for us to continue to just communicate our thoughts through our art (I am aware of and do apologise for how sickeningly pretentious that sounds).”
