Obaro Ejimiwe, otherwise known as electro alt-rock star Ghostpoet, has announced that his autumn tour has been rescheduled for early next year due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The singer, songwriter and musician, who released his fifth studio album I Grow Tired But Dare Not Fall Asleep through Play It Again Sam back in May, confirmed the news in a post across his social media channels.

He wrote: “Due to the ongoing Corona epidemic I’m gutted to inform you that my tour dates in October and November have been cancelled.

“I’m pleased to say that I’ve rescheduled some of the UK shows for 2021, we’ve also added a London show, with the wonderful Tony Njoku supporting on all dates. For all cancelled shows please request a refund via the ticket seller. Rest assured when it’s safe to do so I’ll be back on the live circuit in a ferocious way.

“On another more important note, stay well and stay safe. The world has gone to s**t and it pains me daily. Love more, shoot more shots, care less about the insignificant stuff. Life is short.”

The rescheduled dates will see Ghostpoet play in Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham next February, before a final date in London in early March. Tickets for all these shows are available to buy now.

However, the European leg of his original tour which included dates in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, France, Poland, Ireland and Denmark, as well as UK gigs in Gateshead and Cambridge, have not been rescheduled at this stage.

Ghostpoet was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for his debut album, 2011’s Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam. His 2015 album, Shedding Skin, was also nominated for the award and featured guest appearances from Etta Bond, Lucy Rose, Paul Smith, Nadine Shah and Melanie De Biasio.

Ghostpoet rescheduled 2021 tour dates:

26 February 2021: SWX, Bristol

27 February 2021: Academy 2, Manchester

28 February 2021: Rescue Rooms, Nottingham

5 March 2021: Earth, London
