One Direction have been one of very few UK bands to take the US by storm. They are currently on course to bagging a number one US album. They are currently right on the money on the iTunes chart, and it is expected that the album will sell between 160,000 and 180,000 copies of 'Up All Night.' These figures have officially been reported by Music Week.  If they do manage  it, then they will be the first UK band to bag a number one debut album.

Their single 'What Makes You Beautiful' was released last month and became the highest debut entry for a UK band. The single went in at number 28.

They are currently touring the States promoting their new album, they have already been on the Today Show and have been booked to appear on Saturday Night Live on April 7. They have also been touring with Big Time Rush in the States.

It looks like British boy bands are a hot ticket in the States at the moment, with The Wanted remaining at number four in the Billboard charts for the second week running. Their single 'Glad You Came' has been a massive hit all over Europe and now in the USA.

One Direction are set to make history and well known celebrities such as Katy Perry have publically congratulated the band for their success.
