Twitter Followers Earn Lady Gaga $30 Million Per Year
- in Latest
A new report has been revealed that Lady Gaga's massive fan base through Twitter earns the star a whopping $30 million a year. A story in The Wall Street Journal named Gaga one of the top earners through social network site Twitter.
Because Lady Gaga has such a loyal fan base of Twitter fans she can easily influence millions of her targeted audience through specific Tweets. Whether its telling them to buy her latest merchandise, download her music etc. Celebs like her can control her fans to make profit.
Although most artists have large Twitter accounts nobody interacts with their fans quite like Lady Gaga. She puts a lot of effort into communicating with her fan base. She can be often be seen re-tweeting fans messages etc which in turn builds a stronger relation with her followers. With this then comes trust and they are more likely to engage in activities she requests.
Currently Lady Gaga has the largest Twitter account on the site with over 20 million followers. This is serious business when you consider US president Barack Obama has only 12.8 million.
Its not really surprising she has such a large fan base though. Last year Forbes named her the most powerful celebrity in the world, most influential on the web and even the 11th most powerful women in the world!
In 2011 her yearly earnings were reported at 90 million, one third of this is said to have been generated through social network Twitter.
Many businesses use Twitter in a similar way, people aren't always aware how powerful social sites like this can be. Before the likes of Twitter it was much harder to reach out to fans. When stars have such a targeted audience it creates the perfect way to generate revenue from them 24/7.
