Whitney Houston's Death Cause Revealed - Atherosclerotic Heart Disease Explained

The Los Angeles County Coroners office have officially announced the cause of singer Whitney Houston's death.  The cause of death was cited as drowning combined with atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.

 

 

The singer passed away last month causing a worldwide surge of controversial stories and rumors, however the official reason of her death had not been revealed. Many speculated that with Whitney's troubled lifestyle, her death would of been drug related.

 

Coroners described that the manner of death was accidental. The cause was however was a combination of drowning and atherosclerotic heart disease with cocaine use.

Houston died on February 11, she was 48 years old. She was found in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel.

 

At the beginning of March information regarding the late singers will was released. On March 7 in Atlanta, Georgia it was revealed that Houston left everything to her 19-year-old daughter,Bobbi Kristina Brown. She will receive a portion of her inheritance when she turns 21. She will receive the rest at age 25 and 30. Her sister in law Patricia Houston was named administrator of the estate, and her mother Cissy executor of the will.

 

Explained in simple terms Atherosclerotic Heart Disease is when the walls of arteries thicken. Plaque like colestoral builds up and causes blocakages and limits blood flow. Often hard to detect a patient can be unaware of the problem. If untreated a rupture or tear of the blood vessel can occur. Plaque can also cause a blockage leading to a heart attack or death. For a large percentage of people the first signs of Atherosclerotic heart disease is a heart attack or suden death.

Lifestyle diet and other factors are often associated to atherosclerotic heart disease, drug and cocaine use is often linked to it. Many are suggesting that Whitney's drug problem will be a large contributor to the heart problem.
