English singer songwriter Adele has rung in a fabulous milestone this week, the ten-year anniversary of her second studio album, “21,” released in January 2011. The follow up to her debut “19” which dropped in 2008, “21” smashed charts around the world, earning the number one spot in ten countries and cementing her status as a certified multi-platinum artist.

Taking to Instagram to comment on the special date, Adele wrote:

"Well I never! Happy 10 years old friend! It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But Thank You from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it x."

“21” was named for Adele’s age at the time the album was written and composed, largely inspired by a painful break-up. Her impressive vocals and the deep, dark musical tones on each track pair so beautifully, and it is a release that has aged flawlessly, still worthy of repeat listens today.

Adele released “25” in 2015, in keeping with the age titled theme of her albums. Like its predecessor, “25” slayed worldwide charts, taking that coveted number one spot in multiple countries for the artist yet again. While she has not put anything out since, she has been hinting that she is working on new music. And it seems she has been sharing some of these fresh new tracks with her close friends.

During a recent interview for Grazia UK, English comedian Alan Carr commented on his dear friend’s upcoming music:

"I've heard some tracks on it. Oh my gosh, it's so amazing. It's so amazing. I said to her, I said, that voice is like an old friend. Because there are some people in the charts who sound a bit like Adele and you go, 'Oh, they sound 'Adele'' and then when you hear Adele's voice again, you go, 'Oh no, there's only one. There's only one Adele.'"

If Carr’s comments are anything to go by, then fans will have much more of that beautifully unique voice to enjoy. No confirmed release date has been announced as yet, but no doubt it will be another Adele masterpiece.
