He might be the president of the most powerful nation on earth but Barack Obama is still entitled to his view on music. United States president revealed to a magazine that he thinks Kanye West is a 'Jackass'.

He then went on to say that he prefers Jay-Z to Kanye. The revelation became known through an interview in The Atlantic Magazine. He did'nt totally slate Kanye though, he did say that he was smart and talented.

"Although I like Kanye. He's a Chicago guy. Smart. He's very talented... He is a jackass, but he's talented."

Its not the first time he has had a go at Kanye. In 2009 president Obama was less than impressed with the rapper when he interrupted country star Taylor Swift in her MTV video awards acceptance speech. Once again he labeled him has a 'Jackass'.

When Obama first took over as president, it was clear that he was interested in the music scene as he said he did like Jay-Z. More recently the president has released a playlist from music application Spotify. The online music app which integrates with Facebook lets users create and publish their own favorite playlists. Obama has chosen this for his 2012 presidential campaign.

People are automatically interested what famous celebs and characters are interested. This would of no doubt created a surge of people looking out for famous Spotify play lists.
