Beat 100 The new social music video network

This week Beat 100 is pleased to announce the success of its launch over the last few months. To celebrate this, they have started to offer $1000 prize pool for their latest talent every month. Beat100.com is a new social networking site that aims to provide users with access to the best new musical talent from around the world and to provide unsigned bands and new talent with an incredible platform for self-promotion. Beat 100 aims to make band promotion easy by providing users with new music and bands with new viewers.

 

 

Music on Beat 100 revolves around their music video charts. Bands can upload their music videos to be entered into the monthly competition which offers a staggering $1000 prize pool. Bands and fans can then vote for their favourite videos and whoever gets the most votes wins the monthly cash prize. Beat 100 also offers free press coverage for bands based on their talents and we are also in the process of developing an online radio station and instant music downloads.

 

Beat 100 has come about in direct response to the problems the music industry has faced over the last few years and how difficult it is for new bands to gain exposure. If you’re ever used social media sites for promotion then you’ll know that trying to get views on your videos and trying to gain new fans is an upward struggle. Likewise the incredibly popular talent shows have a very niche focus in terms of the talents they look for and the popularity they require.

 

Music promotion has come a long way since the old days where bands just sent off a demo-tape and hoped for the best. The music industry now expects bands to have a fan base and they expect a band to have already started marketing themselves before they’ll even let them in the door. Of course there are exceptions to this rule as with viral hits like Justin Bieber but this represents a very slim segment of the music industry.

 

At the same time the internet has made it easier for bands to self-publish their music. iTunes, My Space, Facebook and all the online platforms for music have meant that you can write, market and sell your music all off your own back. However, very few bands manage to achieve any real presence and sales through these methods as unless your marketing is very good your music simply won’t get in front of enough new people. The problem is that none of these websites actually actively promote your music. They put it there and then you are left to promote it yourself. Unless a band is incredibly good and goes viral or they spend hours marketing they are unlikely to get the attention they might deserve.

 

Beat100 aims to be the solution to this problem bands face. For users we provide the best new music from around the world but for bands we provide a promotional opportunity unlike any the internet has ever seen.
