Indie trio Wild Rivers are back with their first single Long Time, which is taken from the upcoming album Sidelines due early next year.
Long Time is a gentle ballad featuring rich vocals, backed up by piano and a steady beat. About the song the band said: "this idea came out of getting an unexpected call from an ex-lover. Your conscious, mature brain might tell you that you’re over something, and then in a moment, you’re right back to the place you were before".
The Toronto group have already racked up 200 million streams, which has lead to an impressive fan base and a number of sold out future shows. Style wise, the trio have been described as a modern day Fleetwood Mac, and the upcoming album Sidelines is set to contain elements of pop, rock, indie, and folk.
About the upcoming album, Wild Rivers said: “A lot of [Sidelines] is about perspective and longing to be somewhere that you're not, or trying to figure out how to get to a place that you want to be, whether it's physically, emotionally,”.
The band are set to start their Fall tour this week. Sold out dates include New York, Boston, Washington DC, Seattle, San Diego and Boulder. Further dates are set to be added.
The trio is made up of Khalid Yassein [guitar, vocals, keys], Andrew Oliver [lead guitar, synths], Devan Glover [vocals].
