A surprise came out to the music world today when Avril Lavigne announced that she was to get married to rocker Chad Kroeger, lead singer and front man of Nickelback.

The story started trending on search engines and social media sites since it was released. Avril Lavigne Tweeted about it earlier, since the news went viral a spokesman has since confirmed it.

Its an interesting combination as Chad is 10 years her elder at the age of 37. The relationship has also been kept a secret.

Both have been involved in marriage before. Avril tied the knot to Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley but split up around 2009. Chad was married for 6 years to Marianne Goriuk but split up in May last year.

It seems Avril has a thing for rock guys as Chad shares the same genre of music as her ex Sum41 member. Lets not forget though, that Avril Lavigne is a rock chick too!

Its also reported that they have been recording music together, so this could be an interesting combination once it surfaces.
