For some reason this years X-Factor audience is down, we aren't just talking a few thousand either. Its actually being reported as much as a whopping 3 million. So why is this happening?

Things must be getting bad because Simon Cowell is flying back to look over this weeks show. Will this do any good? Or has the show just not got going yet.

Perhaps once the initial part is over and people start to see the real stars, then the gossip starts- All this will help, however are people just becoming bored of the same manufactured artists which appear every year.

At first the show was a great novelty but in recent years we have seen the same bands and artists come and go. Yes most do well, last years winner Little Mix have just made the number one place but is the overall feeling of the show slumping.

There are a few reasons why the show could be getting a little dull. For one the judges are similar, there's nothing really different about them. The format is pretty similar too. There has also been The Voice TV Show released, which could divert attention .

A few holes in the show have been exposed too, naturally good Lucy Spraggon made one appearance with her own unique song and acoustic guitar. The viewers were impressed and her song went to to number 2 in the iTunes chart. Sadly days later X-Factor bosses asked her to remove her song as it was against show rules. Once again, not good publicity for the show.

Maybe Simon Cowell can help the show, perhaps he is the reason why people aren't watching it as much, when he left.
